merci d'avance
Ali
Excusem moi, but i can't speak french. The Pedradura 2001 is made from 100% Marzellan grape, which is a hybrid grape made from grafting Granache to Cabernet vines. Not a cuvé, but a new grape variety.
It comes from the coastal region to the north of Barcelona. The terroir is stony, with humid sea breezes. The wine is aged in new oak barrels.
Thanks Jeffrey,
I felt quite abandonned till the 5th of sept....
Very interresting memo about that wine made with an hybrid of grenache and cabernet.
Did you try this wine I found In Lavinia Paris ?
Best regards,
Ali
I was at a wine tasting event here on Saturday (15.10.05) in Germany for an importer who imports spanish wine. He invited Guia Penin, (who writes the most famous guide to spanis wines) to present his latest edition. Penin picked 8 unusual wines for us to try, and one of them was the Pedradura. That is how I found out that it is a hybrid. I was given a gift of a bottle at the end of the evening. I was searching the internet to find a price, and that is how I found you.
What did you pay for it in Paris?
I liked the wine. It had an interesting mineral taste, and ripe (barrique) fruit. I am only an amatuer, buy I think it needs a year or two to mature.
Hi Jeffrey,
it was a promotion for spanish wines in Lavinia Paris and I payed less than 10 euros...which is incredible for the quality of the wine...maybe one or two more years but I took a great pleasure to drink it now !
best regards
Ali
