A background application of wood surrounds the cool and airy aromas of dark cherry, plum, earth and a whisper of the sauvage. There is terrific intensity to the beautifully delineated mineral-driven flavors that possess a refined mouthfeel before culminating in a saline but warm, clipped and very short finish. I'm not sure what happened here as this seems completely different than any of the prior wines, so whether it was just this sample or not, I would describe it as awkward and odd would be an understatement. I should have a chance to review this again from barrel next year but for now, it doesn't seem promising.. Not Rated

The wine is blessed with an exquisite bouquet: blackberry, briary, crushed stone and light violet aromas that gently unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, hints of tobacco infusing the black fruit with an almost effervescent finish that leaves the mouth tingling. Completely gorgeous and maybe a little profound? Maybe very profound? It is a brilliant wine from one of the appellation's most exciting growers. 95-97/100

Chambertin 2017 de Trapet, le 2e c'est Neal Martin ? AM a mal goûté pas mal de 2017 j'ai l'impression. Ça va modérer les envies...
